Basic Life Saving (BLS) Course

Participants are apprised about the ways and means to tackle whole body injuries. It lays emphasis that Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) must be instituted within 3 minutes in case of cessation of heart and lungs, medical attention to be made available to the seriously injured victim within 1 hour (GOLDEN HOUR) and to reach a specialty hospital within 6 hours if a limb gets dissociated from the body so that reconstructive surgery could be performed to save the limb. Apart from visualizing the gravity of the injury, shifting an unconscious victim in the lateral position to the hospital can save many a lives. Knowledge on relevant sections of Motor Vehicle Act (MVA 1988) helps the public to strengthen its case in the court.

Enhancement Training Course (ETC)

As the name suggests, this workshop for 2 days is more exhaustive than the BLS course. Specialists like doctors, advocates, police, psychologists, nursing supervisors etc will all have inputs to be given on an accident scenario. The participants get the knowledge of dealing with sensitive issues of legal matters where the police refrains from lodging an FIR or what is best for the family when court cases get prolonged for years together. Awareness on victims who get psychologically disturbed and are unable to join the duties is also focused. The medical curriculum covers handling of Emergency Medical Services (EMS).

Advanced Life Saving (ALS) Course

The medical fraternity in general is not well versed with the above course. It is therefore, meant for medical professionals to enhance their skills in this field.
